Denver Gaels Airport Buses

Arrival and Staging for Bus
When you arrive at DIA take the sub-way train to the main terminal. Watch for our GAA signs when you get to the top of the escalator. We will direct you to our welcome booth. Each team should have a TEAM REPRESENTATIVE who will check in and get your baggage area and bus departure information. Once you've collected your baggage, we will recommend that the team representative take your team party to the assigned waiting area (door 512-West Side, subject to change) until the bus arrives at the terminal from the security holding lot. It is the responsibility of your team representative to keep your team together and be at the assigned location at the time of departure we give you. (We do not have access to the PA system to track missing people down). We will take you to the bus location when it arrives at the concourse.

Weekend Bus Ticket
When you get on the bus we will sell you a $20 ticket which will include the cost of:

  • Bus ride from DIA to Boulder and return to DIA on Monday.
  • Shuttle buses from hotel to the fields.
PLEASE HAVE A $20 BILL READY WHEN YOU ARRIVE. We will not have change available and are NOT PERMITTED to sell tickets at our booth. We will give your team representative information regarding the location of an ATM machine if need be. There is NO discount if you leave early, (no buses return to DIA prior to Monday, September 6th). For teams leaving early, we suggest you check out the RTD transit system who run buses to the airport from Boulder and Louisville daily.

    Notes

    • Security info, check all hurleys in baggage.
    • Please cooperate - we have been instructed by airport security to move people through the airport quickly and efficiently.
    • When the bus is on the Concourse - do not delay as we will not be allowed to sit and wait for people.
    • If you are driving into Boulder Saturday afternoon avoid Highway 36. There will be a lot of traffic heading toward C.U. / C.S.U. college football game.
    • If you are staying at the Best Western Golden Buff, please exit the bus at the Boulder Marriott - it is just across the street to your hotel. The Best Western Golden Buff is not a scheduled stop.
    • For more information, contact Alan Murphy (303-379-9590).

    Getting to Boulder

The RTD AB Skyride runs between downtown Boulder and DIA ($8 one way). It conveniently stops at Louisville, the stop being a short walk from the Louisville hotels. Click here for the Labor Day Monday schedule. AB Skyride leaves hourly from DIA at about 15 minutes after the hour from 6:15AM to 9:15PM Mon-Fri, 6:15AM to 7:15PM Saturday, and 8:15AM to 9:15PM Sunday. Sunday and Mon-Fri there is also a late bus, leaving at 10:45PM. From Boulder to DIA, buses depart the downtown station at about 20 minutes after the hour starting in the wee hours (4:25AM weekdays and Sat, 6:20AM Sun) and ending at 8:22PM except Saturday when the last bus is at 5:20PM. For more information call RTD - (303) 299-6000.

For players staying in Louisville wishing to go to downtown Boulder, the RTD AB and B routes are the best options. Here is the RTD transit map for Louisville and Boulder. For those staying at the Boulder Marriott and Millennium, RTD also run a shuttle bus system called the HOP around the town - a cheap and quick option for access to downtown Boulder, 28th St. or the University Hill district. Click here for the HOP Route Map. Players staying in Louisville can conveniently access the expansive Flatirons Crossing Mall by getting on the 228 Bus.

    Supershuttle
Door to door service from the airport to Boulder, $22 for one person, $10 for additional people. The shuttle runs hourly 8:00am - 10:00pm seven days a week. You don't need a reservation, but you do need to check in at the Supershuttle counter at the baggage claim level in the Main Terminal. Allow 2 hours from shuttle departure in Boulder to airplane departure from DIA. For more information call Supershuttle - (303) 444-0808.

    Rental Car
The car rental offices at DIA close by 9:00pm, so make reservations or arrangements if you're coming in later. Exit from the airport onto Pena Boulevard (the only choice out of the airport) and go about 12 miles (from the parking lots, about 8 miles from the toll booths) to I70. Take I70 west to I25 north (about 10 miles), exit right onto I25 north and continue about 5 miles to the US 36 west exit (marked Boulder). Take US 36 west about 20 miles to Boulder. Within Boulder, US 36 becomes 28th Street; numbered streets run north-south with low numbers to the west (toward the mountains). Campus is to the left at the first light on US 36 in Boulder; to get downtown go left at the second light on US 36 (Arapahoe), the third light (Canyon), or the fifth light (Pearl).

    Getting to Boulder
Boulder is on US 36 about 30 miles north west of Denver. Interstate highways I70 and I25 intersect in Denver, but there are a couple of local short cuts.

    • From the south, take I25 to US 36 west to Boulder.
    • From the east, exit I70 onto I25 north and then take US 36 to Boulder.
    • From the north, take I25 to Highway 52 west (right turn, go about 10 miles); it dead ends into Highway 119 at the local IBM plant, turn left and take 119 into Boulder.
    • From the west, take US6 exit (left exit) off I70 just past Idaho Springs about 15 miles through Clear Creek Canyon, turn left at the traffic light at Highway 93 and continue about 15 miles into Boulder.
